SJS News and Events
March 8th: We celebrate the start of National Catholic Sisters Week, it is also International Women’s Day. We celebrate and acknowledge our sisters as they continue their ministry to serve and love.
NCSW is an annual celebration that takes place from March 8–14. Created to honor women religious, it is a series of events that instruct, enlighten, and bring greater focus to the lives of these incredible women. It’s our chance to recognize all they have done for us. It’s also our hope that as more young women learn about women religious, more will choose to follow their example.
On February 14, 2017 we celebrated the day with a special “Open House” for all of our new friends who had not yet visited our Bonita house. The afternoon was fun, informative and full of goodies. The candy table proved to be a big hit. Thanks to all that attended!
On February 24, 2017, we celebrate the 96th Anniversary of the Episcopal Ordination of Bishop Silviano Carrillo, the Founding Father of the The Sister Servants of the Blessed Sacrament (original name in Spanish: Hermanas Siervas de Jesús Sacramentado.)
Prayer to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception
O most Holy Virgin,
immaculate in body and spirit,
look kindly on me as I Implore your powerful intercession.
O most Holy Mother of Jesus and my Mother,
receive my prayers and present them to God.
I implore you Virgin Mother,
please bless the Sister Servants of the Blessed Sacrament with many new vocations into their community, allowing them to continue their mission to love and serve.
O Mary conceived without sin,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee
Fr. Silviano, intercede for us.
On January 7, 2017 a special mass and luncheon was held at Corpus Christi Church in Bonita. The luncheon honored those special friends that have provided the Sisters with many generous gifts throughout the year. The event was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council 9065 and Corpus Christi Church. We are very appreciative to the Knights for their hard work and dedication in organizing the luncheon. A special thank you to Reverend Efrain Bautista, the Mass Celebrant and to the Corpus Christi Staff.
